Useful Maps for Colorado and Eastern Utah Areas
On this page are Maps for Colorado and Eastern Utah. Make sure that you use enlarge at bottom of map so that the smaller towns will appear. I will also provide links to other useful maps of this area for hunters and hikers. Maps are an absolute necessity when planning a trip into the outdoors and with a compass can keep you from becoming lost. Topo maps will show drainages that are important for hunters in finding big game animals because they will usually be located near water sources not only for water but for the abundant vegetation that will grow near these areas. Water sources can be drainages, springs, windmill water pumps, guzzlers and seeps. Maps will not always show where all of these are located but always keep a lookout for them. Guzzlers can be found in dry desert canyons that are built by the government to provide water to animals in this type terrain. There are different styles but look for a low to the ground, usually fenced, area that has roofing like fiberglass or metal. There is a water holding tank underneath. Deer and chuckers will usually live nearby.
