catfish from Minnesota

I have a question(s). I have been having a heck of a time finding a colorado elk guide for the fall of 2010. I will be using a muzzleloader. I am starting to get confused. In short, I am looking for a good guide, in a quality bull area (I have 12 p/p). Any advice or guide suggestions?
Thanks!!

Hi Catfish,

If I had 12 preference points I would probably go hunting in units 002 or 201. I know people that have hunted in these units without a guide and they had fantastic hunting. There are not a lot of tags given for these units and there are many large bulls here to pick from. Go to Coloradooutfitters.org and put your preferences in the form and it will pull up outfitters that are in the units that you request. This link and more helpful links are located in my Outdoors Info Links page. Check out their websites and contact the Better Business Bureau and check for complaints. Call or e-mail the Craig Chamber of Commerce and check out their Hunting link for information on guides they might be able to recommend. Good luck with your hunt..Howard
